Puppy peeing inside now that husband is home?

I got a puppy yesterday and he hasn't had one accident the whole time even thru the night because he whines at the door when he needs to pee or poo. My husband is a truck driver and he just got home today, and now my puppy isn't whining or anything he just pees on the carpet. Is he scared of my husband or was I just lucky the first day? The pup is around 6 to 8 weeks old and was found in a barn.
