Who is (are) your favorite female protagonist (s) and why?

My favorite female protagonist would definitely be Jane Eyre. :) The girl has a quiet strength that you have to admire. Not sure who my least favorite female protagonist would be, though. I could say Madame Bovary, but I don't really know if she was a "protagonist" as much as an "antagonist" - she cheated on her good husband, ran up bills trying to look rich, cheated on him, and then killed herself when the s**t hit the fan, leaving him and their daughter in the poor house.
