The newborn pup isn't finding the nipple, What to do?

My dog is giving birth right now she's had the first pup and cleaned him w/o any problems. I'm getting worried though the first pup isn't finding the nipple. It keeps going under her arm and looking for something there. I can't remember how long since he has been born, it's under an hour but atleast 30 minutes. My dog doesn't mind me touching it, so I've tried to lead it to the nipple. My dog has also tried positioning herself differently too. How long can he go w/o eating? Should I just give it more time? She nipples are easy to find and visible because she really doesn't have much hair on her stomach.
