My 1987 isuzu pup runs good at idle but when i put it in gear and give it gas it bogs down?

i just put a new fuel filter on it after it started doing this. but it rune perfect in idle and when i rev it up . but when i put it in gear and start going it will run good for a little but will imediatly start to choke up and eventually stall until i press in the cluth and give it gas, then the motor spins like a champ. but i'm more worried about it going than idleing. i'm sure you can understand that. what is wrong with this cursed vehicle?
