Why does my dog randomly snap at people?

My lab/shepherd mix, about 10 months old, is generally a really kind pup. But sometimes I will be sitting down next to her on the floor, and she would randomly growl and actually bite me. She will then continue to bark like she is really angry about something. There are times where I have sat on the floor next to her for a LONG time playing with her without any trouble. Any suggestions?
