Joining the military with social secruiy income could posiibly jointy?

my name is kevin mejia i attend arroyo valley high school and am really motivated to join the army but theres a little problem i receive social security income for stuttering and my stuttering is not that severe and my mom is the one that recieves the money not me but its under my social and the social secruity co worker told me that this doesnt prevent me from joining the military because once i give them confermation that i am joining they are going to cancel the ssi that i am getting and i passsed the asvab and the physical the only thing meps wants is two letters from my teachers an 1 from my principal and a report card from all my classes but my recruiter hasnt contact me for nothing so my question is can i join the army or not please answer and thank you for your time lol
